Hi there fellow SugarCRM users.

Searching the web I found several "birthday dashlets" for SugarCRM. One very old, another one new, but not working as expected. I thought there should be a working version of such a dashlet for the current versions of SugarCRM (5 & 6), but there's nothing to be found...

As one of our customers wanted to have such a dashlet on his Sugar install I thought: why not make one myself. Dashlet creation is not that hard in Sugar, the hardest part was creating the right queries for the different periods one can choose in the configuration of the dashlet.

Once finished, I tested it on my development system and all seems well. Here's what it looks like on the front page of my own Sugar install:

And when you're configuring the dashlet you can choose if you want only upcomming birthdays or past birthdays as well:

So, what's next? (apart from installing this nice little dashlet on my clients system) Well why not publish this to SugarForge?
